Game Objective

Your goal is to guide the ninja through each level, defeating enemies, avoiding traps, and reaching the exit portal. Along the way, collect stars and power-ups to maximize your score and unlock secret areas.

Each zone consists of several standard levels followed by a boss encounter. Defeat the boss to advance to the next zone. Complete all five zones to conquer the Shadow Fortress and achieve the ultimate victory.

Game Mechanics

Understanding these core systems will help you dominate every level.

🏃

Movement & Momentum

Your ninja has realistic momentum. Starting a run builds up speed gradually, and stopping isn't instant. Learn to account for this when approaching edges and enemies. Higher speed gives you longer jump distance.

🦘

Jump Mechanics

Holding the jump button longer results in higher jumps. Short taps produce quick hops ideal for dodging low projectiles. The double jump — unlocked in Zone 2 — resets your vertical momentum and can be used at any point during a fall.

⚔️

Combat System

Your katana attack has a short range but deals heavy damage. Timing three consecutive slashes triggers a combo finisher that deals area damage. You can attack mid-air for aerial strikes. Some enemies require specific attack timing — watch for their wind-up animations.

Collectibles & Power-Ups

Gold stars are scattered throughout each level. Collecting all stars in a level reveals a hidden bonus area. Power-ups include shurikens (ranged attack), speed scrolls (temporary speed boost), and shadow cloak (temporary invincibility).

Health & Lives

You start each level with three hearts. Getting hit by enemies or traps costs one heart. Losing all hearts sends you back to the last checkpoint. Red heart pickups restore one heart. Reaching a checkpoint flag saves your position within the level.

Beginner Tips

New to the game? Start with these fundamentals.

01

Don't Rush

Take your time to learn each enemy's pattern before engaging. Patience is a ninja's greatest weapon. Observe, plan, then strike.

02

Use Checkpoints

Always run through checkpoint flags when you see them. They save your progress within a level and you'll respawn there if you lose all hearts.

03

Explore Everything

Many levels have hidden paths above, below, or behind visible platforms. Look for slightly discolored walls or suspiciously empty corners — they often hide secret areas.

04

Master the Jump

Practice holding jump for different durations. Half-jumps, full jumps, and double jumps each have distinct uses. Many gaps can only be crossed with specific jump techniques.

Advanced Techniques

For players ready to take their skills to the next level.

A1

Cancel Momentum

Tapping the opposite direction briefly cancels your forward momentum, allowing you to stop on a dime. Essential for precision platforming on narrow ledges.

A2

Aerial Slash Dodge

Attacking in mid-air briefly pauses your vertical movement. Use this to extend your airtime, dodge projectiles, or reposition mid-jump over hazards.

A3

Speed Run Chains

Killing enemies in quick succession without touching the ground builds a combo multiplier. This multiplier increases your star collection rate and score dramatically.

A4

Boss Pattern Memory

Every boss has exactly 3 attack patterns that cycle predictably. Learn the tells (animation wind-ups), memorize the safe zones, and strike during recovery frames.

Common Questions

Currently the game supports keyboard and touch controls natively. Some browsers support gamepad mapping extensions that may work, but official gamepad support is not guaranteed.
The double jump ability is unlocked after defeating the first boss at the end of Zone 1. Once unlocked, it's available in all subsequent levels and you can go back to replay earlier levels with it.
Some platforms require specific abilities that are unlocked later in the game. If a jump seems impossible, you may need the double jump or a speed boost power-up. Come back later once you've progressed further.
